About the event

Presenter: Paul Hunziker, MA, LMFT, SUDP Opioid Response Network

This training will focus on the behaviors we tend to see prior to a recurrence of substance use in people with a substance use disorder. We will discuss primarily external triggers and warning signs so that Recovery House staff can be more attuned with changes in residents. We will also discuss ways staff can help support residents in reengaging with sober supports and their recovery plan.

Learning Objectives

  1. Identify common external triggers and early warning signs that may indicate increased risk for recurrence of substance use.

  2. Recognize changes in resident behavior that may signal a need for additional support or intervention.

  3. Apply practical, trauma-informed strategies to support residents in reconnecting with sober supports and strengthening engagement in their recovery plans.
