About the event
Presenters: Cameron Fordmeir, M.Ed., SUDP-T Awareness Consulting & Training LLC, with special guest Shane Gulley, an expert in Trauma and Neurodivergence.
Attendees will become more familiar with the natural physiological effects of trauma on the brain and turn a complex issue like trauma into an easier digestible concept of an “injury to the brain.” Participants will have a better understanding of how trauma affects the way one views the world, how the thinking process is changed, and how it affects the potential for addiction to various substances. Different treatment options and coping skills to help support those individuals living with trauma and struggling with SUD will be discussed. Non-traditional and other self-help support strategies will be discussed, such as diet and ways of building support systems with those managing trauma.
